By using ConcreteOwner you accept these terms. They are written to be read rather than to be impenetrable.

What this site is

ConcreteOwner publishes general information for homeowners about residential concrete, and in some areas passes homeowner requests to independent local contractors. We are not a concrete contractor, a trade association, a certification body or a government agency, and we do not perform concrete work.

The information here is general

Everything published on this site is general guidance. It is not an engineering opinion, a structural assessment, a safety inspection, or professional advice about your specific property. Concrete behaviour depends on the base beneath it, the drainage around it, its reinforcement and thickness, and site conditions — none of which we can see.

You should have a qualified professional assess your actual property before acting. If anything about your concrete concerns you, have it looked at regardless of anything this site says.

The decision tools

The repair-or-replace tool and the crack severity assessment are educational decision support built on fixed, documented rules. They are not diagnoses, not engineering determinations, not structural or safety inspections, and not certifications of any kind.

Neither tool can tell you whether concrete is safe to walk on, drive on or stand under, and no result should be interpreted as saying anything is safe. Results are a starting point for a conversation with a contractor and nothing more.

Cost information

We do not publish price quotes or guaranteed pricing. Where we discuss what drives cost, that is educational context about how work is priced. Only a local contractor quoting your specific job can tell you what it costs.

Contractors

Any contractor we introduce you to is an independent business. They are not our employee, agent, partner or subsidiary, and we do not control their work, pricing, scheduling, conduct or the agreements they make with you.

We do not inspect, certify, approve or accredit contractors. An introduction through this site is not an endorsement and is not a representation that any contractor meets any standard, including the vetting standard we publish. Any contract you enter into is between you and that contractor.

You are responsible for evaluating anyone you hire, verifying their licensing and insurance, and satisfying yourself about their work. The vetting standard exists for exactly that purpose.

Submitting a request

When you send a request you confirm that the information is accurate, that you own the property or are authorised to arrange work on it, and that you consent to be contacted about it. We do not guarantee that any contractor will contact you, that we can match you at all, or any timeframe for a response.

Acceptable use

Do not submit false information, use the request form for solicitation, attempt to interfere with the site or its systems, or scrape or republish content in bulk. We may decline or remove any submission.

Intellectual property

The content, tools, standards and design on this site belong to ConcreteOwner. You are welcome to read it, print it, and take our checklists to an estimate — that is what they are for. Republishing substantial portions commercially is not permitted without permission.

Limitation of liability

This site is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ConcreteOwner is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, reliance on its information or tool results, or any dealings with a contractor introduced through it.

Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's principal place of business. A specific governing-law jurisdiction is not stated here because naming one we had not confirmed would be worse than leaving it open; this section will be completed when it is.

Changes

These terms may be updated. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
